The Delta Cultural Center administers the Blues Heritage Youth Art Competition each year in conjunction with the King Biscuit Blues Festival. All students, public, private or home schooled, grades K-12 are eligible to participate.
Judging is done by local artists who rate the entries for their use of color, creativity, and application of the theme. There are three award winners in each grade category. The winners receive certificates from the Delta Cultural Center, recognition in area newspapers, AND CASH AWARDS - and so do their TEACHERS! First place winners have their work published as printed posters & postcards for all to enjoy.
Each year, all entries are displayed in the lobby of the Delta Cultural Center's Depot Museum from early October through December, providing the young artists with plenty of exposure.
