The museum hosts special blues music events and programs throughout the year, such as Delta blues festivals, gospel festivals, folk art exhibits and much more. Don't miss the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival in October, formerly known as King Biscuit Blues Festival. This Delta blues festival is the largest free blues festival in the nation!

"Jazzin' Jammin' & Jivin'"

http://www.deltaculturalcenter.com"Jazzin' Jammin' & Jivin': The History of Jazz on Film," presents vintage movie posters from the Separate Cinema Archive collection, including Delta native son Louis Jordan's landmark "Caldonia," one of five works to be included in a series of U.S. Postal Stamps to be released in June celebrating Vintage Black Cinema. The centennial of Jordan's birth is also being celebrated statewide throughout 2008. The DCC will feature Jordan-related events during the exhibit run.
A presentation of Jordan musical film footage and a lecture by Jordan historian and music writer Stephen Koch is slated Friday, July 11, beginning at 6 p.m. at the DCC Visitors Center. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Regular gallery hours at the DCC Visitors Center at 141 Cherry Street and the nearby DCC Depot at 95 Missouri Street are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
