Additional Event Details

Now-a-days, we take what we wear and where we buy our clothes for granted.  But in the late 19th century, people had to make everything they wore!  Just imagine it, if you lived back then and wanted a cozy pair of wool socks for the winter, you had to knit them with your own two hands.  Whatever you and your family wore would have to be made by you!

Join Maureen Jones, owner of Haute Pare, a children's clothing boutique in historic downtown Helena, as she teaches the basics of knitting. Ms.    Jones makes many of the clothing items she carries in her shop--by hand.  In this workshop you'll get a close up perspective on what it would have been like to make your own clothes in days gone by, when everyone made them by hand!

The workshop is limited to 10 people.  While it's free, registration is required by Thursday, June   21.  To register, contact the DCC education coordinator at 870.338,4350.
